The Honourable Mrs Locke King

Born Louisa Elizabeth Hoare in or about 1813, her father was William Henry Hoare of Mitcham Grove, Surrey. On 22 March 1836 she married the Honourable Peter John Locke King (1811-1885), who was the Member of Parliament for East Surrey from 1847 to 1874.
The Honourable Mrs Elizabeth King died on 21 July 1884, at Brooklands near Weybridge, leaving two sons and two daughters. She was 71 years old. Her estate was valued at £17,384.
Her son was the entrepreneur Sir Hugh Fortescue Locke King (1848-1926), who founded and financed the creation of Brooklands, the motor racing circuit and airfield in Surrey.
