Duque de Sesto
(1825-1909)

Identified verso in a period hand as ‘Duc de Sesto / ami de Eugénie,’ this is her cousin, José Osorio y Silva, who in 1868 became the second husband of Sophie Troubetskoi, widow of the Emperor’s illegitimate half-brother, the duc de Morny. The duc de Sesto [Spanish: duque de Sesto] was at one time the Governor of Madrid and was later responsible for the education of King Alfonso XII.
