Charles Francis Blackett
(1841-1919)

Charles Francis Blackett fought in the Indian Mutiny and gained the rank of Major in the service of the Rifle Brigade. 

Born on 6 January 1841, Charles Francis Blackett was the son of Sir Edward Blackett, 6th Bt. and his wife Julia née Monck. He retired on half-pay in December 1877.

On 27 November 1886 he married Henrietta Louise Johanna Martha Schmidt, daughter of Carl Friedrich Schmidt.

He died, aged 78, on 3 February 1919.
