Irma Marie

Mlle Irma Marie appeared alongside Mlle Bouffan in the first production of Offenbach's operetta Les Bergers when it was performed on 15 December 1865 at the Opéra-Bouffes in Paris. 

The following year various newspapers reported on a lawsuit in Paris. 'The director of the Bouffes-Parisiens Theatre recently brought an action to recover heavy damages from the director of the Chatelet Theatre, for having deprived him of the services of Mdlle. Irma Marie, an actress. In the course of the case it transpired that the director of the latter theatre had exchanged one of his actresses for Mdlle. Marie, by agreement, with the stage manager of the plaintiff; and the court, holding that the stage manager had a right to make the exchange, dismissed the case, with costs against the plaintiff' (Dublin Evening Mail, 26 November 1866).
