The dancer Elisa Troisvalets is seen here dressed as 'la Fée des Fleurs' [The Fairy of the Flowers] in Le papillon, choreographed by Marie Taglioni as a vehicle for her pupil Emma Livry. It was first presented at the Salle Le Peletier in Paris on 26 November 1860, following a performance of Lucia di Lammermoor.
