The Honourable Bertrand Pleydell-Bouverie

The Honourable Bertrand Pleydell-Bouverie was born on 23 April 1845 at Longford Castle in Wiltshire; he was the third son of Jacob Pleydell-Bouverie and Mary Augusta Frederica née Grimston. At the death of his grandfather in 1869, his father became the 4th Earl of Radnor.
Educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge, he graduated BA in 1868 and MA in 1872. He was ordained deacon in 1869 and priest in 1870. He was Curate of Halesowen in the West Midlands 1869-1870; Rector of Stanton St Quentin, Wiltshire 1870-1880; and Rector of Pewsey in Wiltshire 1880-1909. He also held the office of Prebendary of Salisbury Cathedral 1894-1913.
On 21 April 1870 he married Lady Constance Jane Nelson, daughter of Horatio Nelson, 3rd Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton.
He lived latterly at 32 Stourcliffe Avenue, Southbourne-on-Sea, near Bournemouth. He died there on 7 November 1926, at the age of 81, leaving effects valued at £21,695.
