Emily Clunes O'Conor was the second daughter and co-heiress of Rear-Admiral Sir Richard O'Conor. She was baptised on 15 October 1821 at Carshalton in Surrey.
In 1851 she was living with her parents and older sister at 68 Regency Square, Brighton.
On 6 January 1855 she married Maurice James O'Connell, the first son of Sir James O'Connell, 1st Baronet. A nephew of Daniel O'Connell, he was born on 31 October 1821 and succeeded his father on 28 July 1872. Their marriage produced at least five children.
Sir Maurice James O'Connell died at Lakeview, his residence on the shore of the Lakes Killarney, on 15 January 1896.
Lady Emily Clunes O'Connell 'of "Lakeview" Killarney county Kerry' died on 23 January 1907. She left effects valued at £451.
