| A cabinet card portrait of a young girl seated in a cleverly constructed studio setting, which artfully shows her floating in an imitation rowing boat on a painted lake. The photographer has contrived an effect whereby the girl is in focus and all else seems soft and hazy.
Photographed by A. Caccia of 126, boulevard de Strasbourg, Le Hâvre. According to Voignier’s Répertoire des photographes de France au dix-neuvième siècle, Angelo Caccia was not only a photographer but also a sculptor. He operated a studio at this address from around 1861 until his death in 1877. His widow continued to run the studio alone until the beginning of the 1890’s. |
