| An albumen print showing a group of people assembled on some grass, the men on the far left clearly dressed for cricket. Some of the other men also have cricket bats. The apparent difference in the social standing of some of the sitters in the group suggests that this might be a “Hall v. Village” ‘match. The hats and hairstyles of the younger women date the portrait to the 1870’s.
Photographed unidentified. The print measures 6.4” by 8.6” (163 mm by 218 mm) and is mounted on an clean, stiff piece of paper measuring 8.9” by 11” (227 mm by 280 mm). |
