| An albumen print from the mid-1870's showing Kandian chiefs. An inked inscription in a period hand in the lower margin reads Group of Kandian Chiefs.
The photographer is probably Skeen and Co. of Ceylon, or possibly Scowan and Co. The print measures 8.5" by 11.1" (215 mm by 282 mm) and is mounted on a slightly larger album page that has been neatly separated from its reverse side by a professional conservator. |
