A first generation press print showing a cabinet of Native American artefacts. According to a typed piece of paper attached to the reverse of the print, ‘Here is part of Dr Kazimirioff’s collection of Indian relics, all taken from excavations he made on sites of Indian villages in Metropolitan New York. There are arrowheads, pestles for corn grinding, ornaments and skulls of first Americans.

Two wetstamps appear on the reverse of the print, one identifying ‘International News Photos’ and the other ‘By-Line Features’. The typed piece of paper with the information given above has a printed letterhead reading ‘By-Line Feature, supplied by International News Photos / 235 East 45th Street, New York 17’. The date is given as ‘June 16, 1946’ and the photographer credited is Sam Schulman.

The print measures 9.5” by 7.3” (242 mm by 187 mm).

condition: Small diagonal creases at two corners and a longer crease at the lower right-hand corner.
