| An albumen print showing a beret-wearing Basque with a basket propulsor used in the game of pelota (pilota in Basque and Catalan, pelota in Spanish, or pelote in French).
Photographer unidentified. The print measures 6.1” by 4.5” (157 mm by 113 mm) and is mount on an album page measuring 8.2” by 6.3” (210 mm by 160 mm), the reverse of which is blank. The photograph dates from the 1870’s or 1880’s. |
