An unmounted, first generation, French press print showing the prison of La Roquette in Paris. A pencilled inscription on the reverse of the print reads: ‘Les evasions de la Petite Roquette / Un des couloirs de la / Prison sur lequel donnent / les cellules de jeunes détenus’ [The doors of the Petite Roquette, one of the corridors on which the cells of the young detainees open].

Photographer unidentified. A wetstamp credits ‘A. Harlingue / Informations Illustrées / 5, rue Sevestre, Paris / Tel: NORD 45-43’.

The print measures 4.7” by 6.9” (118 mm by 125 mm).

condition: A couple of areas of the print show some small stains.
