An albumen print from the 1870’s, or possibly the early 1880’s, showing Signallers of the 14th Hussars, recognizable by the oval shield displaying a Prussian eagle, visible over the stripes of the corporal on the left and the over the stripes of the Squadron Sergeant Major.

Photographer and location unidentified.

The print measures 7.9” by 11.1” (200 mm by 282 mm) and is mounted on a slightly larger section of a cut-down album page that has been neatly separated from its reverse by a professional conservator.

condition: The print shows a slight loss of tone along two of its edges but is otherwise in excellent condition.
