A group portrait showing staff officers in India; the men are wearing riding boots and spurs and are kitted out with sabres, sabretaches and topees. Several of the men belong to an artillery regiment, and at least one belongs to a cavalry regiment. A Royal Engineer can also be identified. The photograph dates from the 1890’s and evidence elsewhere in the album makes it clear that the location is India.

Photographed by J. Winter, identified near the lower left-hand corner of the image.

The print measures 9.4” by 14” (240 mm by 359 mm) and is mounted on a slightly larger album page, the reverse of which is blank.
