A gelatin silver print showing a group of Latvian mourners beside an open coffin, outside a wooden building. Those in European dress, who are presumably more affluent, are grouped around the head of the coffin, while those in traditional dress have been placed at the foot of the coffin.

A wetstamp on the reverse of the mount identifies the photographer as E. B. Urga of Kanesé, which I believe is in Latvia.

The print measures 5" by 7" (125 mm by 175 mm) and is mounted on an elaborately decorated Bristol board mount measuring 8.5" by 10.5" (216 mm by 268 mm).
