An inked inscription on the reverse of the mount reads ‘Giuseppe Baccari’ underneath which another (later) hand has written 'Pop's mother in coffin, Theodora Vaccari'. The dead woman’s initials appear on the side of the coffin.

The print measures 4.6” by 6.2” (116 mm by 158 mm) and is mounted on a mid-brown mount of Bristol board with an elaborate design of scrolling printed in the margins; the mount measures 6.8” by 8.8” (173 mm by 223 mm).
