A gelatin silver print dating from the early twentieth century, showing the body of an infant lying in a white coffin, with a wreath hanging on the inside of the lid and some ivy trailed around the edge. One end of the small coffin has been propped up with a couple of books.

Photographer and location unidentified.

The print measures 4.5” by 3.8” (115 mm by 98 mm) and is mounted on a piece of cream-coloured Bristol board measuring 5.8” by 5” (150 mm by 128 mm).

condition: An excellent print on a slightly stained mount.
