A large format matt silver print showing a man laid out in a coffin, apparently in a domestic interior that has been dressed for the occasion. The walls have been hung with a black fabric, and the chairs have been covered with some material.

Photographed by Fischl and Mallison of 1442, Third Avenue, New York, identified by photographer's details printed in the margin of the mount.

The print measures 8" by 5.7" (201 mm by 146 mm) and is mounted on a piece of off-white Bristol board measuring 11.8" by 10" (300 mm by 254 mm).
