This is possibly the Selina Bulkeley who appears on the 1851 census, living at Clewer Lodge, Clewer, Berkshire. Her father was a retired army captain. At the time of the 1851 census, Selina Bulkeley was 13, so if this is her, she would have been born in or about 1838, and would have been about 23 at the time this portrait was taken. She appears again on the 1861 census, living on Spital Road in Clewer, at which time her father, Thomas Bulkeley gave his profession as "J.P." and she gave her name as "H. Selina Bulkeley." A Miss Henrietta Selina Bulkeley was married in the district of Windsor the following year (1862). |
