| Identified on the album page only as ‘Anne Henniker’, this is possibly Lady Anne Henniker who died in London, aged 75, in the June ¼ of 1889. Her death was registered in the district of St George’s, Hanover Square.
Another Anne Henniker appears on the 1901 census, an unmarried, 71-year-old visitor at 11 Dyke Road, Brighton. She was born about 1830 at the Rectory of Great Horksely in Essex. Also to be considered is Anne Cassandra Henniker, daughter of Major Jacob Henniker, who on 22 August 1865 married Rev. Frederick John Ramsden. Of these three, the first woman, who would have been about 57 years old when this photograph was taken, seems the likeliest candidate. From an album probably compiled by either George Charles Pratt (1799-1866), 2nd Marquess Camden or by his son, John Charles Pratt (1840-1872), from 1866 3rd Marquess Camden. |
