| Given the context of the album, I would have said that these were the parents of John Wingfield Malcolm, namely John Malcolm, 14th of Poltalloch, and Isabella Harriet née Wingfield. Only Isabella Harriet Malcolm died on 30 September 1858 and this portrait was taken in the early 1860s. It is possible that the Silvy daybooks identify the sitters in more detail.
