| The Esterhazy family of Hungary rose to prominence during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Pal Antal Esterhazy played an important part in the Congress of Vienna which settled the Napoleonic Wars in 1815. He was later Austrian ambassador to the Court of St. James. |
