| A pencilled inscription verso in a period hand identifies the sitter.
Probably the mother of Hon. Mark Rolle and mother-in-law of Lady Gertrude Rolle. Born Lady Elizabeth Georgiana Kerr, she was the daughter of William Kerr, 6th Marquess of Lothian and Lady Harriet Scott. She married Charles Rodolph Trefusis, 19th Baron Clinton, on 25 October 1831. She died on 19 March 1871. |
