According to Burke’s Peerage and Baronetage (1871), she was born Frances Blanche Anne Gough-Calthorpe. She appears on the 1861 census, living with her parents at 33, Grosvenor Street, London. She gave her name as Blanche, her age as 32- so she was born in 1828 or 1829 - and her place of birth as Brighton.
On 11 July 1861 she married the Rev. John Feilden, rector of Baconsthorpe, Norfolk. Her death was registered in the June ¼ of 1899 in the registration district of Mitford in Norfolk. She was 70 years old. All the portraits on this page are from an album compiled by her brother, Augustus Cholmondeley Gough-Calthorpe (1829-1910), 6th Baron Calthorpe from 1893. This particular portrait was dated 5 November 1860 on the album page below the image; this could either be the date the sitter visited Disdéri’s studio or the date on which she gave the resulting portraits to her brother. |
