Mrs Jane Benyon was born at Eyton in Herefordshire in or about 1806. She was the only daughter of Edward Evans, Esq., of Eyton Hall, JP and DL, recorder of Leominster, and Anne, daughter and heir of John Weaver, Esq., of Eyton, Herefordshire.

On 5 October 1830 at Eyton in Herefordshire she married the Reverend Edward Richard Benyon, Rector of Downham and of North Ockendon, Essex (Morning Post, 7 October 1830).

On the night of the 1871 census, Mrs Benyon and her husband were together at their London address, 33 Portman Square. Mrs Benyon ran the house with the help of nine servants, including a butler, an under-butler, a footman, a lady's maid and a housekeeper.

Mrs Jane Benyon died, aged 70, on 9 January 1876 at Culford near Bury St Edmunds, Essex (Ipswich Journal, 15 January 1876).
