Miss Blanche Malet
(1843-1913)
7 March 1861

Volume 2, page 274, sitting number 2385.

[This was Miss Malet's second visit to the studio; she had already sat for Silvy shortly after his arrival in London. She is one of the first sitters to appear in volume one of the studio's daybooks. On both occasions she was accompanied by Miss Gertrude Ker Seymer.]

Born at Cork in Ireland in or about 1843, Miss Jane Blanche Malet was the daughter of Sir Charles St Lo Malet, later a Colonel in the Army.

She married Walter Rosebrook Duttson on 15 December 1870 at St George's, Bloomsbury. According to the 1871 census, her husband was an 'East India merchant.'

Mrs Jane Blanche Duttson died, aged 71, on 3 June 1913.
