Volume 17, page 93, sitting number 4441.
Identified in the Silvy daybooks as 'M. C. G. Lysley,' this is probably Caroline Gertrude Lysley, sister of barristers-at-law William Gerard Lysley and Warine Bagley Marshall Lysley. Her father was William John Lysley, also a barrister-at-law and at one time the Member of Parliament for Chippenham.
William Gerard Lysley had previously visited Silvy's studio and sat for his own portrait on 22 March 1861. Warine Bagley Marshall Lysley lived at 38 Queen's Gardens in Paddington, a mere stone's throw from Silvy's studio.
Caroline Gertrude was born on 13 October 1835 at Mimwood, North Mims, Hertfordshire. She married Admiral Samuel Hoskins Derriman in 1865 at All Saints' Church in Knightsbridge. Their marriage produced three children.
Caroline Gertrude Derriman died on 5 May 1879 at 5 Queen's Gate Terrace in Bayswater. She left effects valued at £3000.
